Your year in mathematics will consist of a variety of units, each covering a different mathematical topic. Units of study for the course include the following:

-Functions and Mathematical Models

-Period Functions and Right Triangle Problems

-Trigonometric functions

-Elementary Functions

-Sequences and Series

-Polynomial and Rational Functions

Through investigations of real-life contexts, you will develop a rich understanding of mathematics that makes sense to you. In turn, you will be able to apply your understanding to new situations and problems.

**About the Course**

This course is the final year in a three year sequence studying algebra, geometry and discrete mathematics. The focus will be on examining multiple representations of relations and functions; analyzing data using measures of dispersion; applying probability models; sequences and series; triangular and circular trigonometry; and transformations of graphs and data. The course utilizes the latest technology, including a digital textbook and SMART board, and each student is encouraged to have a notebook/laptop and a graphing calculator (TI 84 or 84 plus).
